2014 NWTF Academic Scholarship Winner

Corey Wachter Selected as 2014 NWTF Academic Scholarship Winner.

The JoDaviess County Longbeards, a chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, is pleased to announce that the winner of the NWTF Academic Scholarship for 2014 is Corey Wachter of Elizabeth. Corey will receive a $500.00 award to be used to offset college expenses. Corey plans to attend either Western Illinois University in Macomb, or Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and hopes to major in Pre - pharmacy.

Corey is the son of Mark and Jean Wachter and is currently a senior at River Ridge High School. Corey has been active in athletics (football, basketball, and baseball) as well 4H and FFA. He has volunteered at the NWTF “JAKES” Day for the last 2 years.

The JoDaviess County Chapter of the NWTF is a group of dedicated sportsmen who work to promote and support wildlife conservation, with a particular interest in the wild turkey. The chapter actively supports youth education, and safe and ethical hunting practices.
